Notching up your achievements in style – around your wrist!

We all know that running isn’t easy. It takes time, effort and commitment, and often, it’s not fun at all, just painful. So, getting others to see and appreciate all that effort and sacrifice you go through as a runner was our chief motivation behind creating Notch, a simple and stylish way of wearing your achievements on your wrist, and showing them off to your friends and family.

The man behind the idea of Notch is Chris Healy. Chris is a keen runner, having taken part in more marathons, half marathons, 10ks and other running events than he cares to remember. Although he liked receiving medals, t-shirts and other goodies from each event, he was keen to have something long lasting that he could wear regularly and which would show off his achievements in a fashionable and stylish way. From this initial idea, Notch was born.

The idea is simple. Whenever you do an event, or anything else you’ve worked hard for and are proud of, you add one of our specially engraved coloured aluminium or stainless steel Notches to your bracelet. With each achievement you just add another Notch and build up your collection. And when you’ve completely filled your bracelet with Notches, send us a photo of it, and we’ll send you a new bracelet, completely free of charge!

Though Chris’s initial idea was indeed for running events, the great thing about Notch is that it can be used for virtually any achievement, from passing your driving test to losing weight, from gaining a martial arts belt to getting a promotion. And with our personalised Notches, you can add key details to your achievement. For runners, that could mean anything from the position you finished in the race to what time you achieved. You choose. The only limit is the 25 characters on the Notch.

Ever since our launch, the response to the idea has been phenomenal – people, and runners in particular – love the idea that they can wear a stylish bracelet, recalling all the different events they’ve done. For members of Virtual Runner UK, it will be a great way to tell your friends and family about your running achievements.

We’re really excited to be working with Virtual Runner UK and to celebrate this we’ll be offering 5 free Notch Starter Packs to be used in upcoming competitions on the VR UK Facebook page. Each Starter Pack will come with a black leather bracelet and a midnight blue Notch with the words Virtual Runner UK on it. Good Luck!
