Virtual Runner UK has teamed up with the brilliant organisers of Equinox24 to offer you a special virtual challenge.
In this race you run or walk as much as you like/can within 24 hours.
Run/walk a minimum of 10km (which is one lap of the Equinox24 course) over the 24 hours to achieve your medal. Log your running over the 24 hours on a fitness app or device such as a Strava, Fitbit or Garmin, etc to upload to the Virtual Runner site once you have completed your challenge.
There are no solo/team/10k categories – it is just one race for individuals. Children are welcome to enter with parental consent and supervision. All the running/walking should be done by one person only (no team totals). Please respect government guidelines at the time of your run. The Equinox laps are 10km and we are requesting a minimum of 10km to be completed over the 24 hours but you can run as much as you like. The more you run, the higher up the results table you’ll climb.
All running must be completed within one 24 hour period. The official race date is midday Saturday 19th September to midday Sunday 20th September – and we will be celebrating the virtual race on social media over those 2 days. However, you can choose to run for any 24hr period between 19th September and 20th October 2020 to complete your race. Deadline for submissions is 12 noon on 24th October.
This is a cumulative challenge so please submit your results at the end of your 24 hour period. You can only submit results ONCE (with multiple uploads allowed in the one submission) so please ensure you upload all your run results together.
Entry includes delivery of your medal which will be posted within 5 working days after we approve your evidence.
Please ensure that you adhere to all government guidelines at the time you do your challenge regarding exercise outside of the home and social distancing. If your time running outside is limited you can get creative running in your living room, garden, on a treadmill etc.
We hope that this will give you a reason to run this Autumn and a chance to earn some race bling as well as participate in the online community fun of the virtual event weekend.
We want to extend a big thank you to the team at Virtual Runner UK for their support in hosting this event for us.
